submissions are now open for the first edition of Vocal Inhabitants our first anthology of new writing, due for publication in Autumn 2024

we are looking for short fiction, poetry, essays and hybrid works
we are open to work in any form, on any subject, but we would suggest that writers/artists familiarise themselves with our previous work to get a better idea of our tastes
we welcome photography/visual art submissions, but please bear in mind that all work will be printed in black and white

one piece of fiction/set of three poems/essay/piece of hybrid work per submission
writers may make up to three submissions in total
please send as .docx where appropriate
simultaneous submissions are acceptable, but please inform us as soon as possible if a piece of work gets accepted elsewhere
we are not able to offer payment for successful submissions, you will however receive 2 copies of the finished anthology
please email submissions, along with a short bio to joe@strangeregion.co.uk
please include the subject line VOCAL SUBMISSION_[SUB TYPE(i.e. poetry/short fiction etc)]_[YOUR NAME]
if your submission does not conform to the categories we've specified, or there is any other information you think would be helpful, please feel free to include a short description of the work in the body of the email.

we will aim to reply to all submissions within three months of receipt, however we cannot offer feedback if you are unsuccessful
